"Orí ẹni ni alábàápín ìrìn ayé, òun sì ni aṣọ́ni t'óyẹ, àti olùdámọ̀ràn" " Orí ẹni ni òrìṣà ẹni, Orí la'àbá bọ kafi òrìṣà sílẹ̀" Rooted in Yoruba philosophy, this series draws from the understanding that Orí (the inner head, the seat of destiny and consciousness) is both one's Co-traveler and the guide. It is the unseen companion that walks beside the self, shaping the course of one’s journey while quietly negotiating fate, choice, and becoming. To the Yorubas, Orí is not merely symbolic; it is sovereign. It precedes intervention, surpasses external forces, and determines the measure of alignment between intention and outcome. In this series, pathfinding becomes a return inward, where guidance emerges through an intimate relationship with Orí (the inner presence that counsels, adorns, and directs), rather than external forces. The work explores the tension between control and surrender, suggesting that true clarity comes from attunement to Orí.
