Paul Ogunlesi

Paul Oyetunde Ogunlesi (b. Lagos, Nigeria) is a visual artist whose practice explores painting and drawing. He blends newspaper collage with acrylics, using wash and tempera techniques to create subtly textured canvases. His truncated, faceless compositions invite viewers to engage with hidden narratives, inspired by the wisdom in Yoruba adages, life, faith, and everyday experiences Ogunlesi’s work explores love, hope, mental health, and kindness, encouraging deep reflection through ambiguous, multi-layered scenes. By focusing on feet and legs rather than faces, he evokes shared identity and intimacy, drawing the viewer in as a silent participant in the scene laid before them. Ogunlesi's works has exhibited locally and internationally. And his works are held in the Standard Bank Advisory collection in London and numerous private collections worldwide.
